Interview with CEO Mark Jensen
How would you summarise 2024 for Ambea?
2024 was a strong year for Ambea, marked by improved earnings and satisfied employees and care receivers. We added several new care units, but needs in our three countries continue to grow. To support society in delivering high-quality care to all who require it, we need to create even more care places. During the year, we also prepared for the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and joined the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to set science-based emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement.

Important steps in sustainable care
- Our target is to halve our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2025 compared with 2019, and we have already achieved a 44 per cent reduction to date.
- We are continuously improving our methods for measuring our emissions and we joined the Science-Based Targets initiative during the year.
- In 2024, we performed a double materiality assessment to comply with the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The results provide a basis for Ambea’s strategic priorities in sustainability and future sustainability reporting.
